Reset password on your WorPress site

Assuming you have access, either physical or remote access, to you server you can reset your WordPress site with the following steps:

  1. Change location to your site folder (probably /var/www/html)
  2. Download wp-cli:
    $ curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wp-cli/builds/gh-pages/phar/wp-cli.phar
    
  3. To easily use wp-cli:
    $ chmod +x wp-cli.phar
    $ sudo mv wp-cli.phar /usr/local/bin/wp
    
  4. List your site user using:
    $ wp user list
    
  5. And then update the password of a specific user with:
    $ wp user update [username] --user_pass=[password]
    

    where [username] is the user name and [password] is the new password
